Colorado

            Colorado is the home of the Rocky Mountains, Pike’s Peak, and Greely.  Colorado is the highest state in America.  Colorado is gorgeous.  Colorado has so many mountains and everyone can come and hike. Colorado is the most fun place to go.

            Colorado’s population is 5.457 million. Colorado has more population in the east of the state than the west. The west is mostly where the mountains are. The east is where almost all the cities are. Colorado is the only state above 1000 meters. The road climbs up to 14,258 meters above sea level. Colorado became a state when it was the 100th anniversary of Independence.

            Colorado makes a lot of agricultural products every year like cattle that make milk for dairy product such as ice cream, wheat, and corn. Sheep wool costs so much in Colorado.

            Colorado was discovered by William Green Russell. He found gold near Denver. The population grew faster and faster when they found gold in the state. When the mining ended in 1861 some people stayed in Colorado and some left. When World War I happened the Allies needed a lot of things from Colorado like oil, metal, and gunpowder. Colorado gave the most supplies in the war.

            Greeley is a city in Colorado. Greeley is 4,658 feet above sea level. Greeley gets only 13 inches of rain every year. That is very low, so it will not flood. Greeley gets 35 inches of snow every year. Everyone can play in tons of snow there. They have bull rides too. It sounds fun.

            The Rocky Mountains are in Colorado too. The Rocky Mountains are 380 miles long and 280 miles wide. Rocky Mountain National Park is the biggest national park in America. The Continental Divide is in Rocky Mountain National Park. The Continental Divide is where one river goes to two oceans.

            Pike’s Peak is in Colorado also. Pike’s Peak is the most famous mountain in Colorado. Over half a million people climb up every year. It was the first mountain with a railroad on the mountain. Pike’s Peak has a road to ride on all the way to the top. The mountain is beautiful.

            Loveland is another city in Colorado. It gets sunshine almost all year. Loveland was founded in 1877. The population is 71,334. There are 250 miles of streets in Loveland. The average house costs $224,565. That is expensive for a house in Cambodia. Loveland has a big lake named Lake Loveland. Everyone is allowed to put his or her boat in it.
